Too much money spent

One of the major issues that I have noticed with many of my contemporaries is that there is a huge propensity to spend money. Money that they don’t have. While I do understand this, I tend to follow in the foot steps of Uncle Eric, who states that every dollar you spend has the ability to gain 22 percent over the course of a life time say 40 -50 years. Is that dollar you are spending for something that will probably be thrown away in a couple of months really worth it or should you put the money away in some form of savings or investment? This is not to say that one should live like a miser, however the long term of financial solvency is what we are aiming for. Money doesn’t buy happiness but it does solve a lot of issues. (Especially when you are old)
